Open lecture at BAS Wednesday 1. March at 1430: The Swiss architects Christoph Flury and Lukas Furrer
The Swiss architects Christoph Flury and Lukas Furrer develop all their works from intimate dialogues with given contexts, spaces and materialities. They approach each task with empatic care for existing conditions for subsequent calibrated releases of the inherent potentials, often also developing 1:1 testing on site. The main aim is to retain the genius loci of a given site and its spaces, and to re-launch these with new meaning and life. Flury + Furrer's works are characterised by a fine combination of no-nonsense directness with great care and understanding for craft and craftsmanship. One of their main body of work so far is the gradual transformation of many spaces in the former industrial factory complex of Sitterwerk, near St. Gallen. In large auditorium. Welcome!
